Problems with the publishing industry – a particular breed of person

Sometimes, the publishing industry attracts a specific breed of a person with a large ego. These people are challenging to deal with, as they consider themselves literary gods. As a result, they don’t like any criticism.

This industry attracts this kind of person because there is an opportunity within this industry for someone to be feted, and those with large egos wish to be heralded. They want to be deemed heroes, shining lights; they expect their egos to be massaged.

Civil servants and journalists are common places to find a psychopath. Oh, and to be on the receiving end of an egomaniac’s wrath, watch out!
